We weren’t sure our metal roof could take panels

Priya and her partner converted a barn a few years back and always liked the idea of solar but assumed the corrugated metal roof would be a problem. They asked a couple of companies and they weren’t really interested. Lunar Solar came out, had a look at the roof structure and the purlins, and said it was actually a good setup for panels. Metal roofs are straightforward to mount on apparently, and theirs had plenty of support.

Panels up and running by teatime

The team arrived first thing and fixed mounting rails through the sheeting into the purlins. Every penetration was sealed up properly. They had all the panels up and wired by mid afternoon. No scaffolding needed, just harnesses and a clear plan. The black panels sit neatly on the dark roof. You’d think they were designed together.

Already paying for itself

The system was generating from the moment they switched it on. Between the house and the workshop they’re offsetting most of their electricity and the export payments are a nice bonus on top. Far less hassle than they expected.
